Fully automated camera inspection.
100% inspection without your own investment.
Manual quality controls are still an economical, flexible, and highly precise solution in many applications. Especially with smaller batch sizes, complex component geometries, or varying inspection requirements, the expertise of trained inspectors is a key quality factor. At the same time, there are use cases in which fully automated 100% inspection offers additional advantages - particularly for high volumes, tight tolerances, or clearly defined series parameters.
Technomix provides fully automated inspection processes for rotationally symmetrical components as an external service. Companies gain access to state-of-the-art inspection automation without having to build their own systems or tie up capital. Our inspection machines combine high-resolution camera technology for visual and dimensional checks with integrated eddy current testing to analyze internal material properties.
Components are fed automatically, optically analyzed, geometrically measured, and - depending on requirements - additionally tested electromagnetically. This is followed by fully automated sorting according to defined quality criteria. The result is reproducible, objective inspection outcomes at high speed with minimal personnel effort.
Compared with manual inspection processes, automated inspection enables significantly higher throughput rates while maintaining consistently high precision. Companies benefit from a reliable, scalable quality-assurance solution - especially for large volumes or increased quality requirements.
Flexible, scalable, and cost-effective.
Efficient inspection processes even with changing components.
Our inspection machines are deliberately designed to be flexible and are not limited to a single product. Within defined inspection ranges, different component variants can be inspected efficiently. This makes it possible to bundle series, reduce setup times, and significantly improve system utilization.
The result is a powerful external inspection solution that dynamically adapts to production conditions while ensuring maximum process reliability.

Technology in detail.
Precision through intelligent sensor technology and integrated inspection systems.
In its fully automated inspection machines, Technomix relies on a combination of high-resolution camera technology, precise dimensional sensing, and - depending on requirements - integrated eddy current testing.
The systems are modular and can be flexibly configured for different component variants within defined inspection ranges. This creates a scalable inspection architecture that can efficiently handle both high volumes and changing variants.
Unlike pure standard AOI systems, our equipment does not only analyze two-dimensional image data; depending on configuration, it also captures additional depth and structural information for the precise evaluation of surface and geometric features.
Optical visual inspection is the foundation of fully automated 100% inspection. High-resolution cameras capture the parts from defined perspectives as they pass through and analyze surfaces, contours, and functionally relevant features with high repeatability. Among other things, the following are inspected:
- Impact marks
- Burrs
- Cracks or voids
- Contour deviations
- Thread defects
- Color or structure irregularities
Evaluation is parameter-based against stored limits and tolerances, producing a consistent, reproducible inspection result independent of runtime or batch size.
To further increase inspection depth, Technomix uses shape-from-shading (SFS) technology. With specially matched lighting systems, additional depth data is generated alongside conventional image information, enabling three-dimensional analysis of the part surface. Even minimal form deviations, unevenness, or hard-to-distinguish surface structures can be detected reliably. The combination of high-resolution camera technology and SFS sensing thus enables precise, all-around surface analysis as the basis for robust automated series inspection.
Beyond optical surface analysis, the inspection system supports integrated geometric dimensional inspection. Specialized sensors capture relevant features during the pass, such as outer and inner diameters, part height, runout, or defined contour and profile zones. Measured values are automatically compared with stored tolerance bands and evaluated immediately.
Surface and dimensional features are captured in a single inspection pass. This eliminates extra handling steps, process interruptions, and separate measuring stations. The combination enables holistic evaluation of form, function, and dimensional stability—even with tight micro-range tolerances.
In addition to optical visual and dimensional inspection, the system can be equipped with integrated eddy current testing. This non-destructive method detects material- and structure-related deviations that are not visible optically.
Depending on the application, the following can be detected, among other things:
- Cracks or crack indications
- Porosity or material inhomogeneities
- Grinding burn
- Changes in hardness or heat treatment
- Microstructure or alloy deviations
Testing runs inline in the automated pass and is fully integrated into the machine logic.
Combining optical, geometric, and electromagnetic analysis yields a multi-dimensional quality assessment—without extra inspection steps or separate handling.
Integration is application-specific and is defined jointly according to the part specification.

Throughput, system flexibility & sorting logic.
High cycle performance with consistent inspection reliability.
Designed for high cycle rates and stable series processes, Technomix inspection systems process multiple parts per second while maintaining consistently reliable inspection quality. Thanks to system-defined evaluation logic, inspection depth remains fully consistent regardless of runtime or volume.
Flexible system architecture for different component variants
Modular systems inspect component variants within defined ranges - without requiring a new system architecture.
This flexibility enables:
efficient bundling of series
reduced setup effort
economical inspection for variant series
Depending on the component, feeding is handled via suitable conveyor systems such as vibratory bowl feeders or rotary table solutions. This ensures a stable, continuous material flow.
Automated classification and sorting
After the inspection sequence is completed, components are automatically classified and sorted into defined quality categories.
Typical sorting logic includes:
good parts
reject parts (multi-level possible)
undefined parts for reinspection
Sorting criteria are based on clearly defined limit values and stored inspection parameters. This creates transparent and consistent decision logic.
Documentation and evaluability
All relevant inspection data can be captured and evaluated by the system.
This enables:
series analyses
trend monitoring
audit-ready documentation
transparent quality metrics
Inspection automation is therefore not only a sorting system, but also a data-driven quality assurance instrument.
Our process.
The process of inspection automation at Technomix.
Technical coordination & feasibility analysis: At the beginning, a technical evaluation of the component is carried out. Relevant inspection features, tolerances, material properties and target values are defined together.
Test run and parameterization: A trial run is carried out using good and reject parts. Inspection parameters are set, limit values are defined, and the component is integrated into the system.
Approval and series start: After successful validation, approval is granted by the client. Regular series inspection then starts in the automated process.
Ongoing support & optimization: During series inspection, parameters are adjusted when needed, statistical evaluations are generated, and anomalies are communicated transparently.
